Reminder: Publish Your App to New Marketplace Countries and Regions

Update on 3/23/2012: Instructions on how to cross-submit you app have been updated in this post.

As part of our expansion of Windows Phone offerings, we continue to open up Marketplace in new countries.

This is a great opportunity for your apps to reach a wider audience - but be aware that your existing apps might not automatically appear in the new Marketplaces. If you published your app ‘worldwide’, it will only appear in the Marketplaces which existed when you published - unless you cross-submit your app.

Cross submission is easy and free, and enables your apps to be purchased or downloaded by local users as soon as these new markets are opened to consumers. Our merchandizing team will also look to these early cross-submissions when we begin recommending apps in these new markets. During this early phase of merchandizing, localization is not required, so you can cross-submit the English version of your apps now. Here's how:

  1. Log into App Hub with your developer credentials and navigate to your my apps list, then select a specific app to get to the My App page

  2. On the My App page, navigate to the lifecycle tab, then select Edit catalog details

  3. On the pricing page, select Worldwide Distribution, noting that your app will be cross-submitted into all new markets. You can unselect any markets that you would prefer not to distribute your app in. Double-check your market selections then select Save and Quit. That's it.
